LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME FOR STEM STUDENTS

THE PROGRAMME

The UNITECH Programme is a leading STEM leadership development programme that aims to develop talented young students to enable them to successfully manage future challenges. Participation in the UNITECH Programme brings you an incredible chance to supercharge your leadership skills and open doors to a world of possibilities. During the year in the programme you will have opportunity to experience:

A 1-2 semester long study exchange in Europe
An international placement with leading companies such as ABB, Airbus, Hilti, Infineon, Wella and others
A master's thesis project with our corporate partners
3 personal development weeks in 3 different countries
Professional coaching from corporate partners
Strong alumni community and professional network

PROGRAMME REQUIREMENTS

- To be a full-time student at one of the UNITECH's Academic Partners

- To be enrolled in their 3rd and 4th year of STEM studies upon application (meaning you will participate in the UNITECH programme during your 4th or 5th year).

Loughborough University students must be on an Engineering, MEng Programme; current Part B or Part C students with Part I taking place in 2024/25

- Have a high English proficiency as it is the main communication language during the Programme

Other prerequisites as well as the application deadlines are set by your home institution and might differ at each university, hence we encourage you to consult your university section in the Programme Handbook.

Application deadlines:

Please note that the application deadline for Chalmers students has exceptionally been extended until 31st of January, with the Assessment Center set to take place on 10th of February.

THREE IN-PERSON MODULES

Start-Up Week

The new UNITECH cohort comes together for the first time to start self-discovery and business skills building. They enjoy a close contact with the network through exercises, presentations on key themes and in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics.

Mid-Term Week

In the second module students work in teams on real business cases submitted by Corporate Partners. Case Advisors provide guidance on research, innovation, collaboration and brainstorming processes, helping students develop as future professionals.

End-of-Year

The final module offers formal and informal interactions with the UNITECH network for students to transition into the professional world. They have the opportunity to lead workshops on areas of interest that they wish to share with their UNITECH colleagues and receive coaching along the way.

ADDITIONAL ONLINE EVENTS

Assessment Centers

Select students are invited by their home university to attend an Assessment Center. Corporate Partners play the role of Assessors to select the right candidates to form the cohort of that given year.

Career Interviews

Organized online sessions offering the opportunity to the Corporate Partners to interview UNITECH students and Alumni for internships and permanent employment positions.

Fireside Chats

Corporate Partners present their organization, company culture, upcoming internship opportunities and answer students’ questions.

Mid-Term Week Cases

Students work in teams for five months on real business cases submitted by Corporate Partners. Case Advisors provide guidance on research, innovation, collaboration and brainstorming processes, helping students develop as future professionals.
