Big ideas developed during UNITECH's Mid Term Week 2016

Ideas as different as localised production of food substitutes in disaster areas or the interactive bathroom design of the future.
The UNITECH Mid Term Week brought the current cohort of students together in Chalmers University, Gothenburg for an intensive week following their recent academic exchanges.
They worked in small groups of 4 to 6 on one of 14 Case Assignments provided by our Corporate Partners. For the second part of the week these Corporate Partners came to Gothenburg and we had 20 engineers and HR representatives from Corporate Partners in the Programme with us.
Supported, but not steered, all week by a team of Corporate and Academic Partner Coaches, the students worked long and hard to develop proposals to meet the expectation of these Case Advisors from the Corporate Partners.
Case Assignment included a range of topics, many based on the UNITECH Theme for this year “How engineering can impact rapid response to disaster relief”.
The work of the Student Groups developed a set of innovative concepts ranging from localised production of food substitutes in disaster areas, microchip tablets to swallow in advance of natural emergencies to aid in rescue, to the interactive bathroom design of the future. Facilities in Chalmers made for open, creative thinking and were appreciated by all - especially the food!
