Over seventy brilliant engineering students from all over Europe learn about the world of ABB Italy.
The event organized in collaboration with Unitech as part of their Mid-Term Week program took place on Monday, January 8th in the auditorium of ABB Italy headquarter offices in Sesto San Giovanni.
Unitech is an international mobility program for engineering students, which brings together nine among Europe’s leading technical universities and multinational companies, including ABB.
The Mid Term Week program, this year hosted by Milan Polytechnic, is one of the three moments during the year in which students collectively attend a training module. In small working groups, they are asked to develop a business case, assisted by coaches. The week, in addition to having the objective of actively developing the ability to work in groups and under pressure, is an important moment to build networks between students and companies participating in the program.
The meeting in ABB was an opportunity to present to the Unitech students and their tutors the organization and business of ABB in Italy and, above all, to allow them to interact directly with about fifteen ABB colleagues to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the company and of available opportunities for internships and placement.
"The students were very interested and extremely curious" says Alessio Radice - Country HR Manager "They appreciated the availability, information and advice that our colleagues have offered them and that, I'm sure, will help them to focus their interests in view of entering the world of work ".
David Ward - Secretary General of the UNITECH International Society thanked ABB at the end of the meeting "It was very useful for our students to meet the managers. There is a lot of interest on their side to carry out the internship period required as part of the program in ABB and we will discuss with ABB HR colleagues how to make the collaboration more structured and efficient in order to actually realize the highest possible number of internships".
