Early on Saturday morning, LUC Switzerland met at the Zurich main station. All equipped with a train ticket and warm clothes we were ready to leave for St. Gallen. On the 5th of October, we, the LUC Barcelona, organized our first event for the recently started UNITECH year 2011/12. We wanted to start this new year of the program giving a warm welcome to the new incoming students: this first semester six in total, from Germany, France and Sweden. Nevertheless, this occasion was also the perfect chance to meet people from different years.

August 25th-27th, Gothenburg, Sweden
The Annual Reunion marks the moment of the year, when the entire network comes together to welcome the new students, celebrate the graduates and keep the network active and alive. This year, the Annual Reunion took place from August 25th to 27th at Chalmers University in Gothenburg, Sweden. For the UAA, this was and is an important event, because it offers us the possibility to present ourselves to the various stakeholders of UNITECH.

After the first meeting of our brand-new Regional Unitech Group (RUG) Frankfurt taking place at the more eastern limits of the Rhine-Main area in Hanau, we focussed this event on the possibilities in the West, to take advantage of the city of Mainz and the Rhine river. Ten Unitech alumni, students and CP representatives meet at high noon at Mainz central station in order to grab some rental bikes and proceed to the popular grocery market taking place in the shade of the cathedral every Saturday.

UAA: What was your first involvement with UNITECH?
David Ward: I was at Hoffmann-La Roche, Head of Global Performance Management, Corporate HR role there and I was asked if I would take care of Roche's involvement in this new adventure that was happening. That was in 1999 and there were few Corporate Partners (CPs) beginning to collect together with ETH.
