In 2012 the Chips@School programme was established in Munich as an idea competition for students of the 8th grade onwards (roughly 13 years old) where the students come up with an idea on how semiconductor chips can be used to improve our lives. Several other sites in Germany joined and in 2015 the first nationwide competition took place.

Dear UNITECH Members,
The Bühler Energy Challenge this year was run with UNITECH as a major participant. The Challenge, which was focused on energy sources and savings, was initially circulated to all UNITECH Students and Alumni within the Network, and to selected non-UNITECH universities by Bühler.
“As Secretary General I see entrepreneurship at the very heart of what UNITECH sets out to achieve – to provide its Corporate Partners with talented engineers who can “Define, invest, build, repeat” in their companies (although the invest part perhaps should be read as “persuade others to invest”).” - David Ward UNITECH Secretary General
We usually link the concept of entrepreneurship with ambition, drive, innovation and continuous self-improvement. Could we link entrepreneurship too with social responsibility? A new concept of a start-up shows us that we can create whatever we want as long as we believe in it. We have discovered a beautiful story of an Alumni of ours; Pau Torres (2004) and we would like to share it amongst the network - Mireia Hernandez UAA International Communication Officer
"What a great start to an important year! The Corporate Partners and the new UNITECH board have started to put even more emphasis on the UAA. This was something the UAA Council has put a lot of work into for the last years. It was amazing how the UAA council, including two new members, takes on the challenge of being in focus." – Jan-Philipp: Vice-president
