Hi, I am Felix,
Hi, my name is Felix and I’m currently in my Master studies at RWTH Aachen. My interest is mainly in the field of Computer Networks and thus also IT-Security. I recently also picked up on ServiceNow during my internship.
I’m currently doing my internship with Infineon in Munich, working on email encryption via S/MIME for their ServiceNow instance.
What attracted you to apply to the UNITECH programme?
I actually found out about the program by accident. During the “go abroad fair” of RWTH, I informed myself at the UNITECH booth and went to the following information session. There, I talked to students from the current cohort and within 5 minutes I was hooked and very sure that I had to apply to the program. Lesson learned: Always stay curious and explore new opportunities.
What did you enjoy most about your experience in the UNITECH program so far and how has the programme helped prepare you for the next steps in your career?
My favorite part of the program is that you automatically meet many interesting people daily. Within my cohort I made many friends and also created valuable contacts into the corporate world which will definitely help me to set foot after I finish my Master studies.
Tell us more about your Academic Exchange? Where was your academic exchange? What did you enjoy the most? Which subjects were the most challenging or interesting?
I spent one semester at Chalmers in Gothenburg, Sweden. It was one of the best experiences during my studies since the classes at Chalmers are more practically oriented. I collected valuable skills for my later career and also enjoyed studying in an international environment while enjoying the best education one can get.
Where was your internship? Were there any challenges that you faced? How did you overcome them?
I’m currently in the last month of my internship with Infineon in Munich, Germany. I work at Campeon, the Infineon HQ, and am here with a group of more than 10 other UNITECH interns.
Nevertheless, I’m the only intern in my team which meant that I had to set foot in a new work environment. I proactively talked to my colleagues during teamwork and our brakes to engage with them and become part of the team.
What are some of the biggest lessons you've learned in your career so far?
Having a welcoming, respectful, and friendly atmosphere is crucial for success in the short and long term. Having supportive leadership in that regard and also live those traits as a team member, is a key factor to contribute to the common goal of your team.
